Meta now describes Hyperion as a 5 GW compute-capacity campus in Richland Parish. Meta also says the campus will provide more than 1,000 roles once operational. Those are Meta's reported project and community-impact figures, not independent LouisianAI estimates.

The three numbers that should not be merged

1. Meta's 5 GW is a compute-capacity announcement

Meta uses the phrase compute capacity. The announcement does not publish a public IT-load curve, an energization schedule for each building, or a final power-delivery total. It is the right answer to “How large does Meta now say Hyperion will be?” It is not a substitute for an LPSC-certified resource figure.

2. Entergy's 5,200+ MW package is a utility infrastructure claim

In March, Entergy described its separate Meta expansion agreement as supporting seven additional gas combined-cycle plants totaling more than 5,200 MW, roughly 240 miles of 500 kV transmission, three grid-scale batteries, nuclear uprates, and up to 2,500 MW of Meta-funded renewables. Those are utility-described infrastructure elements associated with the expansion agreement. They should not be collapsed into the 5 GW compute-capacity statement: the figures may be related, but they measure different parts of the system.

The ratepayer question remains a record question

Meta says it pays the full costs of energy, water, and related infrastructure used by the campus. Entergy says the expansion agreement is structured to recover Meta's full cost of service and is expected to produce approximately $2.65 billion in total customer benefits over 20 years, including the earlier agreement. These are material commitments and claims. They are not the same as a completed, independently adjudicated outcome for a residential bill.
